Day 161 | Cabinets install

House Day: 161
Loan Day: 176

Cabinets are really coming in great! I'm so happy to see some progress in here so quickly! And I am really loving the open kitchen set up with the great room.

Mat put together a mock up for the trim style that we want. 6" board on top with some edge trim, and then 4" board on the sides of the windows. I LOVE it! Definitely has the farmhouse style that we were going for. And the wall color looks great with it too.

Day 159 | Painting and cabinets / trim delivery

House Day: 159
Loan Day: 174

We are definitely getting a lot of painting done. We went with one paint color for throughout the house, just to keep it simple and neutral all over for now. Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter (HC172) in eggshell. Its a popular color and so far I'm loving it! For the ceilings we went with Decorators White in flat.

Cabinets were also delivered today.

Later in the day our trim materials were delivered as well.

Back to inside, our painting. I was really trying to hurry on the trim areas, because our trim carpenter Mat would be starting real soon.

Day 155 | Priming/Painting starts!

House Day: 155
Loan Day: 172

We decided to hire a painter to do all of our ceilings in the house and also the two-story areas (foyer and great room). He will do primer + 2 coats of paint. We also started priming the other walls too and made some good progress between Tony and I. We plan to have a few late nights this coming weekend to help knock a lot of it out.
This is our hired painter, Chad, working on the ceilings.

Day 154 | Leaf blower to the walls

House Day: 154
Loan Day: 171

We have this one day to take the leaf blower and clean off all the walls before our painter starts on Thursday. Before Tony got there I laid down some roofing paper and wire lathe to start prepping on the pre-slope in our shower floor for the concrete.

It was such a MESS using the leaf blower to spray down the walls, but it worked so well! Of course next time I would make sure to have eye goggles. I pretty much had my eyes closed for as much as I could. The masks definitely came in handy though!
