Back to Blogging?

I really hope so! Ive been so out of blogging these last 2 4 6 8 months, I can't believe I let it get like this.

I started blogging in April 2007, after meeting Nicole. And LOVED seeing the ease of documenting your family, your thoughts, and your life around you, while its happening. Its been so nice to go back a year or two and see what we were doing, what the boys looked like, and when we took our trip to say, Michigan's Adventue.

Ive also been in the progress of printing trying to find time to print each year of my blog off into a book through Blurb or Blog2Print. This will make for great memories later down the road!

So I've got the alarm on my phone set and ready to remind me to blog on that day. My goal is to get back to posting 3x a week. Definitely gonna need some encouragement, so post me a comment! Just curious as to see who is still reading, or who is new to my blog... :)

Self titled, Self pic

Nicole and Michelle have put together a blog to help challenge us to take more pictures. I need this. I need motivation. I need to capture more moments in my family's everyday happenings. Cristi and I have even signed up for a class through the ISD to help us learn our digital SLR cameras more and to use them to our advantage for taking more pictures. I always feels if I knew how to use my camera more on Manual Mode, then I would use it more. I am getting excited for the class in a few weeks. And excited to start this challenge ISO {In Search Of}.

First Challenge: Self Pic.
I'm kinda cheating on this one. Had to use the cell phone for this. It's a good thing there is a camera on the face side of the phone! ;)

More and More

Here is a finished Crib Skirt for an Etsy order. This border fabric was actually bought by the buyer and sent to me to match up with the main fabric for this skirt. It was actually kind of a hard decision to match with.

White or Cream.

The background on fabric she sent was right in the middle of the two. I chose Cream. And Im glad that I did. More and more of the lighting I see around these two together, more and more Im happy that it looks more and more alike. Sorry, that totally didn't make sense, did it?

So enough with the talking.. here's the finished pics.

Much needed catching up!

Need not worry... Its not as if I haven't been sewing. Because trust me I HAVE! Lots! I have been thankfully swamped and busy with quilting squares for bees, sewing baby bedding items for Etsy, and random projects for friends here and there. I have even neglected my family blog over the last few months :( and hope to catch up on that as well. Fortunately I have taken pictures along the way and can play catch up. You know, when I have time to do it. ;)

Finished orders

I finished up the crib sheet this weekend. These sheets fit really well to the standard crib mattress. And have fairly deep pocket so no worries on them coming off.

I also finished up with the reversible crib bumper pad. This bumper was made into 4 pieces.

I loved seeing these come together. :)
Thank You for your business!

Believe it or not..

I think these are the ONLY Easter pics that I have this year! I came home from work and found that the kids had already gotten up, searched for Easter eggs and their baskets, and were ready for breakfast. Done. Totally missed it. Oh well, its not like Christmas and I NEED to make a big production out of it. Still would have been nice for pictures and even to see Brady's excitement from finding them. :)
I did get a few pics of the boys on Papa's new John Deere Gator 'tractor'.

Look Mah!...

.... No Hands!!!

Preparing two orders

I've got two orders in Etsy at the moment. One is for a crib bumper. I ordered my pieces online that I needed and received them at the end of the week. I was able to pre-wash the fabric tonight and get it ready to begin cutting. I should have this done by the end of the week and sent out early next week. :)

This next order is using one of my favorite line of fabrics. It's Central Park by Kate Spain. This fabric is for a crib sheet. This also will be fairly quick and hope to get it put early next week.

Spring Break

We went up to the U.P. (thats Upper Pennisula of Michigan, for those not from 'round here ;)) for Spring Break this year. It was nice to go up and visit my Grandma Peggy. We haven't seen her since before Brady was born, so this gave her a chance to finally meet him. We had a great visit, just lounging around the house.
We made sure to get the boys marked on the growth chart.
As you can see, its been around for a looooong time!

Cathedral Windows

At our recent A2MQG sew in, I volunteered to teach the cathedral windows, machine sewn version. Ginia taught us the hand sewn version, which I have yet to actually try. I was working on my machine version. And it turned into this little cutie. A little 6x6 in. mug rug. I could definitely see a quilt done up in this! Of course on a larger scale. :D
